Extant Consent:
The Wheat Quarter site has a significant planning history, including an extant planning permission jointly covering the combined Shredded Wheat south site and the subject site.
811 residential dwellings, made up of 697 C3 homes and 114 C2 extra-care homes. Non-residential uses totalling circa 14,022 sq.m made up of community, leisure, office and flexible business space, retail, combined heat & power, gym, art centre and creche/day nursery uses. Subsequent consents have introduced broad flexibility between office, leisure and community uses across all of the non-residential floorspace as well as increasing the overall quantum.
New application by the previous owners:
A stand-alone hybrid planning application on the Wheat Quarter North site (excluding the Shredded Wheat South Site) was submitted in January 2021. The application proposed up to 1,220 homes (399 Class C3 Private Rented Sector (PRS) dwellings, 250 Class C2 residential care community units, 571 Class C3 dwellings) and a 15,247sq.m community and commercial hub comprising Use Classes E and F1 floorspace and a Cycling Hub
